STARS is an Erasmus+ funded project focusing on the transitions from school to adult life for young people with learning disabilities and/or autism – a key milestone in everyone’s adult life. The project will develop a resource to support young people to prepare for leaving education. This will include an information and training resource platform (www.starsweb.info ) to support planning and preparation including the following topics:
- Physical and emotional
- Practical planning and
- Post school options
Training work booklets will complement the website.
- Developing Independence
- Staying in touch & connected
The two-year project (October 2018 – September 2020) will commence by reviewing the current provision and practice in each country as well as identifying best practice in Transitions from school to adult life. This will inform the development of new resources which will be tested with groups of young people in each country with the final resources being available from October 2020.
Experienced trainers will be available to deliver the training in schools or to groups outside the school environment as part of a transitions programme.
If you would like to take part in testing the resources please contact your local organisation, see overleaf for details.
